Beaches

North Coast -- Watergate Bay, Harlyn Bay, Crantock Beach, Fistral Beach, Perranporth. All long wide beaches where it is possible to rent body boarding or surfing equipment and to take lessons. Also nice to walk along, with good cafes to grab some tea and cake.

South Coast -- Lantic Bay, Lansallos Beach, Readymoney Cove Beach, Fowey Estuary, and Polperro, Looe and Whitsand Bay. Smaller beaches with less infrastructure, but beautiful especially if as part of a walk. The coast path that runs along the South Coast encompasses these beaches. It can be nice to do a walk here and stop off in Polruan or Polpero for lunch.

Padstow They have very good fish and chips that you can try by the seaside. Try Stein's Fish & Chips.
Fowey is a nice place to spend an afternoon - nice shops and cafes. Official Fowey tourist information here. And Falmouth, Truro, St Ives and Mousehole are also nice towns to visit.
Falmouth has a harbour, and is home to the National Maritime Museum.
Truro has some nice shops and is Cornwalls's one and only 'city' (because it has a cathedral).
St Ives is very arty with lots of galleries and exhibitions, plenty of cafes and a working harbour.
Mousehole is a very pretty little fishing village.
It's close to St Michaels Mount, which is a small island steeped in history. Lots of legends and myths associated!

Go for a walk on Bodmin Moor.
Visit the Eden Project. It has the world's largest greenhouses and presents education about sustainability.
The Lost Gardens of Heligan are well worth a visit for those who like gardens.
Encounter Cornwall: Canoe trips and kayak hire.
Visit Land's End.
Visit Lanhydrock.
Watergate Bay onthe North Coast.
Walk around Pencarrow Head and Lantic Bay on the South Coast.
Go for a wander around Fowey.

Lerryn River Stores is the closest shop - well stocked and priced village shop. Here on Gmaps.
The Co-op in Lostwithiel is decent. Open 7:00 to 22:00, 7 days a week.
Aldi in Liskeard is the closest Aldi to St veep (25 min by car).
The Aldi is located at Slades Rd, Saint Austell PL25 4HW is a 30 minute drive from St Veep, but a lot closer if you're staying on the other side of the River Fowey. It seems to be open until 10 PM.
There's also a Tesco Superstore in Saint Austell (Daniels Ln, Saint Austell PL25 3HT). Open from 6 AM until midnight (according to Gmaps).
